Bruce Floyd has walked past the class of 1995’s time capsule every day for 18 years on his way to work.
When he goes past Ben Hill Griffin Stadium on Monday, though, the capsule will be gone.
At 11 a.m. Saturday, the UF Alumni Association will open the capsule, which was buried nearly 20 years ago.
It has been sealed in a brick wall by the stadium since April 1996.
Danita Nias, executive director and senior associate vice president of the UF Alumni Association, said the contents will be unveiled at the Orange & Blue Debut tailgate. At least 500 people are expected at the opening in Emerson Alumni Hall.
“We’re all going to be surprised,” she said. “There is a lot of excitement.”
